How to Upgrade Mamboboard Version

If you are using mamboboard, there is an update available in the mamboboard official website.
But too bad.. There is no upgrading instruction available there. So, I have to write in here. :)

Legend
[optional] Means this step is optional to perform.
[required] Means this step is require to upgrade mamboboard

Instructions
1. [require] Unpublish the main menu item which link to the forum.
2. [optional] Switch your forum offline in the mamboboard configuration.
3. [optional] Backup database (All of mos_sb_table or jos_sb_ table)
4. [optional] Backup any custom templates (Root/components/com_mamboboard/templates)
5. [optional] Backup any custom emoticons (Root/components/com_mamboboard/emoticons)
6. [optional] Backup any custom rules.txt (Root/components/com_mamboboard/rules.txt)
7. [optional] Backup user avatars (Root/components/com_mamboboard/avatars)
8. [require] Backup user uploads files and images (Root/components/com_mamboboard/uploaded)
9. [require] Uninstall Mamboboard via the Mambo or Joomla! Backend.
10.[require] Install the new version of mamboboard.
11.[require] Restore user uploads files and images.
12.[optional] Restore user uploads avatars
13.[optional] Restore your rules.txt
14.[optional] Restore any custom emoticons by placing them back in the correct directory.
15.[optional] Restore any custom templates by placing them back in the correct directory.
16.[require] Create a new forum menu item for the main menu and publish it.
17.Okay finish :)

Open an External Page inside Your Joomla!

There is a Wrapper function in Joomla! which can let you open an external page inside your joomla page. This function is quite helpful. I will show you how to doing it.

Step 1. Go to your Admin page=>Menu=>Main Menu=>New=>Choose Wrapper and Click Next

Step 2. Now you are in wrapper menu setting

-Details

• Name: Your main menu name
• Wrapper Links: Put your external page URL here

-Parameters

• Menu Image: Leave it blank(This function's not working)
• Page Class Suffix: Just leave it blank. (This field can contain a suffix that is to be applied to the CSS classes of this page.)
  
• Back Button: Show or Hide or Use Grobal
• Page Title: Hide or Show your page title. (It will show on top of main body.)
• Page Title: Put your page title here
• Scroll Bars: I recommended you choose auto
• Width: Type in a value for the width of the Wrapper window.
• Hight: Type in a value for the height of the Wrapper window.
• Auto Hight: Select whether Joomla! sets the height of the Wrapper page to match the original dimensions of the external web page it is displaying.
• Auto Add: This feature is just to add http:// when you forget to type complete URL inWrapper Links: field (i.e. if you type only www.external page.com)

Finish. After you complete your setting then click save.

How to Insert Youtube Video Clip in Mamboboard

If you use mamboboard forum component on your joomla or mambo website. It can't post the video clip because it is not allow HTML only allow basic BBCode. This tips will show you how to insert my custom BBcode to put youtube video clip in mamboboard.

Step 1. Open the file smile.class.php and looking for this code on line 62

Step 2. Insert this code under the line above

$sb_message_txt = preg_replace("/\[youtube\](.*?)\[\/youtube\]/si","<div align=\"center\"><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/$1\&hl=en&fs=1\"></param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"></param><param name=\"allowscriptacces\" value=\"always\"></param><embed src=\"http://www.youtube.com/v/$1\&hl=en&fs=1\" type=\"application/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"></embed></object></div>",$sb_message_txt);

Now, you can post Youtube video clip by using this tag.

[youtube]ClipID[/youtube]

for Example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldMUEJBA1tk

If you want to post this clip in mamboboard just type:

[youtube]ldMUEJBA1tk[/youtube]

//*Red color font is what I called ClipID

Next step is to add the youtube video button for the easier to use

Step 3. Looking for this code in the file smile.class.php(about line 651)

Step 4. Insert this code under that line above

Finish! Now you add the button Youtube. When people click on it, It will generate tag [youtube]...[/youtube] automatically.
